10-621. LIST OF EMERGENCY FACILITIES.

AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR, THE ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT
SHALL:

(1)  PUBLISH A LIST OF EMERGENCY FACILITIES AND
THEIR ADDRESSES; AND

(2)  GIVE THE LIST TO EACH HEALTH DEPARTMENT,
JUDGE OF A COURT, SHERIFF'S OFFICE, AND POLICE STATION IN
THIS STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from, former Article
59, § 22(k).

Although former Article 59, § 3(d) defined
"Department" to mean the Administration, the
reference to "Department", as the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene, is retained to conform
to § 10-620(d) of this subtitle, which expressly
states that emergency facilities are designated
by the Department.

10-622. PETITION FOR EMERGENCY EVALUATION.

(A)  PETITION AUTHORIZED.

A PETITION FOR EMERGENCY EVALUATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL
MAY BE MADE UNDER THIS SECTION ONLY IF THE PETITIONER HAS
REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THE INDIVIDUAL HAS A MENTAL DISORDER
AND THAT THERE IS CLEAR AND IMMINENT DANGER OF THE
INDIVIDUAL'S DOING BODILY HARM TO THE INDIVIDUAL OR ANOTHER.

(B)  PETITIONERS.

THE PETITION FOR EMERGENCY EVALUATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL
MAY BE MADE BY:

(1) A PHYSICIAN, A PSYCHOLOGIST, OR A HEALTH
OFFICER OR DESIGNEE OF A HEALTH OFFICER WHO HAS EXAMINED THE
INDIVIDUAL;
