EVALUATION TEAM AND NO LESS RESTRICTIVE FORM OF CARE OR
TREATMENT WAS DETERMINED BY THE TEAM TO BE APPROPRIATE.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

June 1, 1982
The Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1014.

This bill provides for procedures relating to the
admission or release of an individual to a facility operated
by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Senate Bill 437, which was passed by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 20, 1982, accomplishes the
same purpose. Therefore it is not necessary for me to sign
House Bill 1014.

Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor
