SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 508.

This bill authorizes the Legislative Auditor to conduct
audits of State Use Industries and to bill the latter for
the cost of the post-audit examination.

Senate Bill 286, which was passed by the General
Assembly and signed by me on June 1, 1982, accomplishes the
same purpose. Therefore it is not necessary for me to sign
House Bill 508.

Emergency Evaluations - Petitions

FOR the purpose of providing that certain petitioners for
emergency evaluations may shall present a petition to
the court; and clarifying language specifying which
petitioners shall give a petition to a peace officer.
