HARRY HUGHES, Governor
5097
are developed closer to these shooting ranges, it is
important that a local jurisdiction have the authority to
impose noise controls, as the circumstances require, so as
to protect the public's health and welfare.
If this bill were signed, neither the State nor the
local jurisdiction could adopt reasonable regulations
governing shooting between the very early hour of 7:00 a.m.
and the very late hour of midnight, regardless of whether
such hours of, shooting were compatible with the comfort of
those living in the residential community.
For these reasons, I have decided to veto Senate Bill
530.
Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor
