(iii) Submits to the Board a renewal
application on the form that the Board provides.
(3) Before a general license to practice dental
hygiene or a teacher's license to practice dental hygiene
expires, the licensee periodically may renew it for an
additional 1-year term, if the licensee:
(i) Within 3 years before the expiration
date of the license has practiced dental hygiene actively in
this State;
(ii) Otherwise is entitled to be licensed;
(iii) Pays to the Board a renewal fee
EQUIVALENT TO AN ANNUAL FEE of not more than $5 that is set
by the Board; and
(iv) Submits to the Board a renewal
application on the form that the Board provides.

The Board shall reinstate a general license to practice
dentistry, a teacher's license to practice dentistry, a
general license to practice dental hygiene, or a teacher's
license to practice dental hygiene that is expired only if
the licensee:
(1) Meets the renewal AND REINSTATEMENT
requirements [of § 4-309 of this subtitle] SET BY RULE AND
REGULATION OF THE BOARD; and
(2) Pays to the Board a reinstatement fee of:
(i) $10 for a general license to practice
dentistry or a teacher's license to practice dentistry; or
(ii) $5 for a general license to practice
dental hygiene or a teacher's license to practice dental
hygiene.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of § 4-309 of the Health Occupations Article
governing renewal and reinstatement of licenses shall
continue in effect until the adoption by the State Board of
Dental Examiners of rules and regulations concerning renewal
and reinstatement of licenses.
SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
