AN ACT concerning

Hazardous Waste Landfills --Location Near Schools

FOR the purpose of prohibiting the Secretary of Health and
Mental Hygiene from issuing a permit for a proposed
landfill system of refuse disposal for hazardous wastes
that is within a certain distance of any school. if

certain conditions are not met: under certain

circumstances; and clarifying the intent of the General
Assembly that the Hazardous Waste Facilities Siting
Board may not issue a certificate of public necessity
for certain facilities in operation on or before the
effective date of Chapter 528 of the Acts of 1980
establishing the Hazardous Waste Facility Siting
Program.
