(2) In this kind of combination of vehicles, a
semitrailer equipped with an auxiliary dolly is considered
to be a trailer.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

AN ACT concerning

Short-Barreled Rifles and Short-Barreled Shotguns

FOR the purpose of altering the prohibition on the
possession of short-barreled rifles and short-barreled

shotguns and providing an exception for certain

shotguns; providing exceptions for certain persons and
for certain short-barreled rifles and short-barreled
shotguns which have been registered in a certain
manner; and allocating the burden of proving a certain
fact to a certain party in a certain prosecution.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

481C.

(a) (1) In this section, the following words have the
meanings indicated.

(2) "Rifle" means a weapon designed or
redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from
the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade
to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed metallic
cartridge to fire only a single projectile through a rifled
bore for each single pull of the trigger.
