REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a)(1) of this section is
standard language added for clarity.

Subsections (a)(2) and (b) of this section are
new language derived without substantive change
from the eighth sentence and the first clause of
the ninth sentence of former Article 2C, §
502(a).

In subsection (b) of this section, the former
reference to the "Baltimore City Commissioner of
Health" is deleted as unnecessary in light of the
use of the defined term "health officer".

8-316. POWERS AND DUTIES.

(A)  POWERS.

EACH COUNTY ADVISORY COUNCIL AND EACH INTERCOUNTY
ADVISORY COUNCIL MAY:

(1)  CREATE COMMITTEES; AND

(2)  HAVE ADDITIONAL INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATE AS

NEEDED.

(B)  DUTIES.

EACH COUNTY ADVISORY COUNCIL AND INTERCOUNTY ADVISORY
COUNCIL SHALL:

(1)  WITH THE ADVICE AND HELP OF THE ALCOHOLISM
COORDINATOR FOR THE APPROPRIATE COUNTY:

(I)  REVIEW PERIODICALLY THE AVAILABLE
SERVICES AND FACILITIES; AND

(II)  DETERMINE THE NEEDS OF THE COUNTY
ALCOHOLISM PROGRAM;

(2)  HELP THE ALCOHOLISM COORDINATOR IN REVISING
ANNUALLY THE COUNTY ALCOHOLISM PLAN;

(3)  ADVISE THE HEALTH OFFICER FOR AND GOVERNING
BODY OF THE APPROPRIATE COUNTY AND, THROUGH THE ALCOHOLISM
COORDINATOR, THE DIRECTOR ON:

(I)  THE PROGRESS OF THE COUNTY ALCOHOLISM
CONTROL PROGRAM; AND

(II)  ANY ACTION NEEDED TO IMPROVE THE
PROGRAM;
