(II) IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, BY THE
COUNTY COUNCIL.

(2) EACH COMMISSIONER SHALL BE GIVEN AN
OPPORTUNITY AT THE HEARING TO PRESENT A DEFENSE.

[(d) Any vacancy occurring in the membership of the
commission for any reason shall be filled as provided in
this section for the unexpired portion of the term.]

1-105. Salary; Officers.

[(e) With respect to the chairman, vice-chairman and
commissioners who commenced their terms in such offices
prior to June 1, 1972, the annual salary of the chairman of
the commission shall be six thousand seven hundred dollars
($6,700.00); of the vice-chairman, six thousand four hundred
dollars ($6,400.00); and of the other members of the
commission six thousand two hundred dollars ($6,200.00), all
payable bi-weekly, and for the chairman, vice-chairman and
other members of the commission who, respectively, commence
such term of office on June 1, 1972 or thereafter, whether
by first appointment or election or reappointment or
re-election, as elsewhere provided for in this section, the
respective salaries shall be eight thousand five hundred
dollars ($8,500.00), eight thousand three hundred dollars
($8,300.00) and eight thousand dollars ($8,000.00), all
payable bi-weekly.]

(A) (1) THE MEMBERS OF THE WSSC SHALL RECEIVE THE
FOLLOWING SALARIES:

(I)  CHAIRMAN.......................$8,500.

(II)  VICE-CHAIRMAN.................$8,300.

(III)  COMMISSIONERS.................$8,000.

(2) THE SALARY SHALL BE PAID EVERY 2 WEEKS.

[The chairman and vice-chairman shall perform such
duties as the commission shall from time to time designate.
The commission shall, in June 1972, and in June every year
thereafter, at its first meeting in that month or as soon
thereafter as possible, elect from among its members a
chairman and vice-chairmen, one to be from Prince George's
County and one to be from Montgomery County, who shall serve
for one year or until their successors are elected and
qualified. The office of chairman, and the office of
vice-chairman, shall rotate between the counties, that is to
say, at any annual election the chairman for the then
ensuing year's term shall be from the county different from
the county from whence came the chairman for the expiring
year's term, and the same provision shall apply to the
