Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

2-309.

(s) (1) The Sheriff of Queen Anne's County shall
receive a salary SET BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of at least
$10,000. He shall appoint a chief deputy, at a salary SET
BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of at least $4,500. The Sheriff
may appoint the number of assistant deputy sheriffs as the
County Commissioners approve, at salaries SET BY THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS of at least $4,200. The Commissioners may
appoint an assistant deputy sheriff, at a salary SET BY THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of at least $4,200.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
Sheriff of. Queen Anne's County in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning
the salary of the Sheriff of Queen Anne's County shall take
effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.

SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect July 1, 1982.

(House Bill 1821)

AN ACT concerning

Worcester County - State's Attorney's Salary

FOR the purpose of granting the County Commissioners of
Worcester County the authority to increase the salary
of the State's Attorney beyond a certain level;
repealing certain limitations on the salary, number,
and employment conditions of deputy and assistant
State's Attorneys and Special Investigators in
Worcester County; providing for the appointment of
certain part-time and assistant State's Attorneys and a
Special Investigator subject to certain conditions;
generally relating to the Worcester County State's
Attorney's Office; and providing that this Act does not
affect the incumbent.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
