AN ACT concerning
Montgomery County - Composition of County Council
MC 220-82
FOR the purpose of permitting the election of the Montgomery
County Council, by councilmanic districts, subject to
certain procedures established by provisions of limited
duration; providing for a certain question to be on the
ballot in Montgomery County; providing for a Special
Charter Review Commission in Montgomery County, subject
to a certain condition; providing for the duty of the
Commission and for certain charter amendments to be on
the ballot in Montgomery County, subject to certain
conditions; providing that a charter amendment adopted
under this Act does not affect the terms, powers, and
duties of certain members of the Council; providing
that the provisions of limited duration shall be
deleted from the Constitution under certain conditions;
generally relating to the composition and method of
nomination and/or election of members of the Montgomery
County Council providing that certain proposed
amendments to the Montgomery County Charter approved by
the voters prior to a certain election shall be null
and void; and submitting this amendment to the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their
adoption or rejection.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, (Three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses concurring), That it be proposed that
section(s) of the Constitution of Maryland read(s) as
follows:

3A.
(A) The charter for the government of Anne Arundel,
Baltimore, MONTGOMERY, Prince George's and Howard counties
under the provisions of this Article, either as adopted, or
by amendment, may provide for the election of members of the
