SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

11-504.

(b) The following items are exempt from execution on a
judgment.

(5) $3,000 [or property PROPERTY of any kind
equivalent in value to $3,000] IS AUTOMATICALLY EXEMPT,
UNLESS WITHIN 15 30 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THE LEVY BY THE
SHERIFF, THE DEBTOR ELECTS, IN LIEU OF CASH, TO EXEMPT ANY
PART OF THE DEBTOR'S PROPERTY OF ANY KIND PROPERTY, TO
EXEMPT CASH IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED A VALUE OF $3,000.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

AN ACT concerning

Workmen's Compensation - County Boards of
Education - Group Self-Insurance

FOR the purpose of providing that groups of a county boards
board of education are may be included in a program of
group self-insurers under the Workmen's Compensation
Law; and clarifying language pursuant to approval by
the county government of that county.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, adding
