performance of acupuncture by any person not registered
with the State Board of Medical Examiners; defining the
circumstances and conditions under which an individual
may perform acupuncture; establishing an Acupuncture
Advisory Council; providing for membership,
compensation, and duties for the Acupuncture Advisory
Council; defining certain terms; exempting certain
persons from the provisions of this Act; and generally
relating to the performance of acupuncture in this
State.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

14-101.

(a)  In this title the following words have the
meanings indicated.

(b)  "Board" means the State Board of Medical
Examiners.

(c)  "Commission" means the Commission on Medical
Discipline of Maryland.

(d)  "Faculty" means the Medical and Chirurgical
Faculty of the State of Maryland.

(e)  "Hospital" has the meaning stated in Article 43, §
556 of the Code.

(f)  "License" means, unless the context requires
otherwise, a license issued by the Board to practice
medicine.
