CHAPTER 542

(Senate Bill 617)

AN ACT concerning

State Police - Modified Work Week

FOR the purpose of authorizing Maryland State Police law
enforcement employees to work a modified work week of a
certain number of work days and work hours other than
the traditional work week; permitting the Maryland
State Police to implement an alternative work schedule
on a pilot basis for a certain period of time to
provide adequate opportunity for implementation and
evaluation; and providing for overtime compensation
after a certain number of hours in that altered work
week.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 100 - Work, Labor and Employment

Section 76(d)(1)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article 88B - State Police

23B.

(A) IF AUTHORIZED BY A SUPERVISOR THE SUPERINTENDENT,
A LAW ENFORCEMENT EMPLOYEE OF THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE MAY
SHALL WORK A 10 HOUR WORK DAY AND 4 DAY WORK WEEK IN LIEU OF
AN 8 HOUR WORK DAY AND 5 DAY WORK WEEK.
