State Employees, Officers, and Officials
Wage Garnishment
FOR the purpose of providing that employees, officials, or
officers of the Executive Branch of State government or
any unit of the Executive Branch may not raise the
defense of public official or sovereign immunity in
legal actions seeking the garnishment of their wages to
satisfy judgments obtained against them for certain
debts.
FOR the purpose of providing that certain moneys, due from
or payable by certain units of government and their
public officers to certain individuals, are subject to
attachment under certain circumstances; providing that
this Act applies to judgments originally entered on or
after June 1, 1982; providing that this Act takes
effect on a certain date; and generally relating to
wage attachments.

BOARD, COMMISSION, OR UNIT OF STATE GOVERNMENT, AGAINST WHOM
A JUDGMENT IS OBTAINED FOR FAILURE TO MEET THE OBLIGATIONS
OF A PERSONAL DEBT, MAY NOT RAISE, OR SEEK TO RAISE, THE
DEFENSE OF PUBLIC OFFICIAL OR SOVEREIGN IMMUNITY IN AN
ACTION FOR THE GARNISHMENT OF WAGES TO SATISFY THE JUDGMENT.
