Ch. 461

(e) In Washington County no payments shall be made under
this section unless the occurrence is reported to a sheriff
or any deputy sheriff, in order to have appraisers
appointed, within 48 hours of the damage complained of, and
unless the appraisers file their report with the County
Commissioners of Washington County within 15 days after
their appointment. (f) In Washington County, the appraisers
to be appointed as provided by this section may also be
appointed by the sheriff, or any deputy sheriff of the
county. (g) In Kent County, the application to the sheriff
shall be made within thirty days after the occurrence of the
injury or destruction. (h) In Somerset and Dorchester
Counties, this section does not apply.(i) In Frederick
county, the board of county commissioners shall prescribe by
ordinance or resolution the manner in which the powers,
duties, and responsibilities placed within its jurisdiction
and control by this section shall be exercised.

(J) IN BALTIMORE COUNTY, THE COUNTY COUNCIL MAY
PRESCRIBE BY LAW THE MANNER IN WHICH THE POWERS, DUTIES, AND
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS SECTION SHALL BE EXERCISED.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

(House Bill 1792)

AN ACT concerning

Public Service Commission - Energy Conservation
Long-Range Plans

FOR the purpose of requiring the chairman of the Public
Service Commission to include certain information on
electrical energy conservation in the annual 10-year
plan of the Commission; requiring the Public Service
Commission to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of
certain utilities' investments; requiring the Public
Service Commission to include certain information on
the Residential Conservation Service Plan in its annual
report; requiring the Public Service Commission to
require all public electric utilities to include
certain energy conservation information in their
long-range plans; and generally relating to long-range
plans for energy conservation by the Public Service
Commission and public electric utilities.
