LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 21

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as the
third clause of the first sentence of Article
52A, § 18.

The former phrase "it deems appropriate" is
deleted as unnecessary in light of the word
"may".

The only other changes are in style.

6-204. RULES AND REGULATIONS.

THE HOUSE OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD MAY ADOPT RULES AND
REGULATIONS AS IT CONSIDERS APPROPRIATE FOR THE GOVERNMENT
OF ITS HOUSES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as the
last clause of the first sentence of Article 52A,
§ 18.

The only changes are in style.

6-205. INSPECTIONS.

A REPRESENTATIVE OF A PUBLIC AGENCY OR COURT THAT HAS
GENERAL CHARGE OF THE CARE OF COMMITTED CHILDREN IN NEED OF
SUPERVISION MAY VISIT AND INSPECT AT ANY REASONABLE TIME ANY
OF THE HOUSES WHERE CHILDREN COMMITTED BY THE COURTS OR
OTHER PUBLIC AGENCIES ARE RETAINED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as the
second sentence of former Article 52A, § 18.

The reference to "a public agency" is substituted
for "the public department" to clarify that more
than 1 public agency has jurisdiction over these
children. See, e.g., CJ § 3-815(e).

The former reference to charge of "committed
delinquent children" is deleted since the House
of the Good Shepherd does not admit these
children. See revisor's note to § 6-202 of this
subtitle.

The only other changes are in style.

The Commission to Revise the Annotated Code
notes, for consideration by the General Assembly,
that an addition, in Subtitle 1 of this title, to
permit the Juvenile Services Administration to
inspect other private facilities with care of
juveniles may be appropriate. See, e.g., Article
88A, §§ 3(f) and 22 of the Code, with respect to
the powers of the State Social Services
Administration.
