AN ACT concerning
Prescription Drugs - Required Information
FOR the purpose of providing for a continuation of the
dissemination of certain pharmaceutical information,
including information as to the therapeutic value of
certain drugs; providing that a licensed pharmacist is
required to provide certain information on prescription
prices under certain conditions; providing for a
penalty if certain pharmaceutical price information is
not provided; and repealing the provisions requiring a
public display of prescription drug information,
including the repeal of authorization for certain rules
and regulations and the penalty for violation of the
public display requirements.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

12-502.
(A) In the operation of a pharmacy, only a licensed
pharmacist or an individual engaging in a clinical pharmacy
training program and acting under the direct supervision of
a licensed pharmacist may provide information to the public
concerning drugs, medicines, and devices, including
information as to their therapeutic values, potential side
effects, and use in the treatment and prevention of
diseases.
