Ch. 338

(b) The board of supervisors of elections of
Montgomery County shall provide for the election of members
of the Board of Education as herein provided. Except for
any election at which the use of electronically tabulated
punchcard ballots has been authorized by the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws pursuant to § 16A-1 of
this article, provisions shall be made for use of voting
machines, or, in the alternative, for the use of paper
ballots under the conditions herein prescribed. The names
of all candidates who have been duly nominated under the
provisions of subsection (a) of this section for election to
the several board of education offices shall, except in the
case of death, be placed on the ballot. The four persons
among the- eight in those years when elections shall be held
for four members to the county board of education at large
and three persons among the six in those years when
elections shall be held for three members to the county
board of education at large, whose names are placed on the
ballot as candidates for election to the county Board of
Education at large who receive the largest number of votes
at said election, shall be declared elected for the
respective board of education offices. All voting for the
county Board of Education members, either in a primary
election or in a general election, shall be conducted on a
nonpartisan basis and on a general countywide ticket; no
designation of party affiliation shall be placed upon any
petition for nomination, nor upon any voting machine,
punchcard ballot, or paper ballot used at any said primary
or general election.]

(a) (1) All members of the Prince George's County
Board shall be nominated and elected by the qualified voters
of their respective districts. Each member, at the time of
their election, shall each reside in a different one of the
nine school board districts of the county. Any member who
ceases to reside in the school board district from which he
or she was elected shall cease to be a member of the board.
All voting for the board members, either in a primary
election or in a general election shall be conducted on a
nonpartisan basis; no designation of party affiliation shall
be placed upon any petition for nomination; nor upon any
voting machine or paper ballot used in any primary or
general election.

(2)  Candidates must be a resident of Prince
George's County for at least three years and a registered
voter immediately preceding their election. During his or
her term of office a board member shall not hold any other
office of profit in county government.

(3)  The primary election for members of the
Board of Education shall be held at the same time and place
as the primary elections of the political parties.
