LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 240

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 427A(g).

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE:

Former Article 43, § 427A(i), which related to
severability, is deleted as unnecessary in light of Article
1, § 23 of the Code.

SUBTITLE 8. SEWERAGE FACILITIES BOND ACT.

9-801. DEFINITIONS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE, THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language used as
the standard introductory language to a
definition section.

(B)  DEVELOPMENT.
"DEVELOPMENT" MEANS:

(1) PLANNING;

(2) ACQUISITION BY GIFT, PURCHASE, LEASE, OR
EMINENT DOMAIN;

(3) CONSTRUCTION;

(4) RECONSTRUCTION;

(5) IMPROVEMENT; OR

(6) EXTENSION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid repetition of phrases such as "planning,
acquiring, purchasing, constructing,
reconstructing, improving, bettering or
extending" and to standardize similar references
throughout this subtitle.

Although the term "lease" appears only twice in
the Sanitary Facilities Bond Act of 1957, the
term is added to the definition of "development"
for consistency.
