A PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF OR FAILS TO
PERFORM ANY DUTY IMPOSED BY PART II OF THIS SUBTITLE, OR WHO
VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF OR FAILS TO PERFORM ANY DUTY
IMPOSED BY A RULE, REGULATION, ORDER, OR PERMIT ADOPTED OR
ISSUED UNDER PART II OF THIS SUBTITLE, IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT
EXCEEDING $100 OR IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING 30 DAYS IN THE
COUNTY JAIL, OR BOTH.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first
sentence of former Article 43, § 424.

Also in this section, the former references to
procedures and venue are deleted as unnecessary
in light of other, independent provisions of law.

The second sentence of former Article 43, § 424,
which related to subsequent offenses, is deleted
as unnecessary.

"SUBDIVISIONS FOR WATER AND SEWERAGE SERVICE.

9-720. "POLITICAL SUBDIVISION" DEFINED.

IN PART III OF THIS SUBTITLE, "POLITICAL SUBDIVISION"
MEANS ANY PUBLIC BODY OF THIS STATE THAT OWNS OR OPERATES
ANY WATER OR SEWERAGE SYSTEM, INCLUDING:

(1) A COUNTY;

(2) A COMMISSION;

(3) A DISTRICT; OR

(4) A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 427A(a).

In this section, the former phrase "(including,
without limitation, the definitions of 'water
system' and 'sewerage system' as set forth in the
subtitle 'Sanitary Districts' of this article)"
is deleted as unnecessary.
