requirement in the eighth sentence of former
Article 43, § 649(c), the bond "be recorded in
the office of the clerk of the circuit court for
the county or counties in which said district
lies".

The sixth sentence of former Article 43, §
649(c), which required depositaries of district
funds to post certain bonds, is deleted as
repetitious of the requirements in Article 95, §
22 of the Code.

9-627. MISCELLANEOUS POWERS OF SANITARY COMMISSION.

(A)  DELEGATION TO THE DISTRICT.

IN ADDITION TO THE POWERS SET FORTH ELSEWHERE IN THIS
SUBTITLE, A SANITARY COMMISSION MAY:

(1) DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF OTHER OFFICERS,
AGENTS, AND EMPLOYEES OF THE DISTRICT; AND

(2) DETERMINE THE POWERS, DUTIES, AND
COMPENSATION OF OTHER OFFICERS, AGENTS, AND EMPLOYEES OF THE
DISTRICT.

(B)  APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS.

A SANITARY COMMISSION MAY APPOINT A SANITARY
COMMISSIONER TO ANY OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT, SET THE
COMPENSATION FOR THAT OFFICE, AND REQUIRE THAT THE
COMPENSATION BE PAID BY THE MEMBER COUNTY REPRESENTED BY
THAT SANITARY COMMISSIONER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the third
sentence, as that sentence related to appointment
of certain officers, and the entire fourth
sentence of former Article 43, § 649(c).

The second sentence of former Article 43, §
649(c), which authorized the sanitary commission
to adopt rules and regulations governing the
business of the district, is deleted as
unnecessary in light of other provisions in this
subtitle.

The fourth and fifth paragraphs of former Article
43, § 649(a)(2-2), which related to Charles
County, are deleted as obsolete. See the
revisor's note to § 9-622 of this subtitle.
