REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language patterned after the first paragraph of
NR § 8-1412(a) -- except the first and second
sentences of that paragraph and the second and
third sentences of item (1) of that paragraph.

Subsection (b) of this section is new language
patterned after the eighth sentence of the second
paragraph of NR § 8-1412(a).

In the introductory language of subsection (a) of
this section, the language in NR § 8-1412(a)
"exercise one of the following options", which
modifies "may", is omitted as unnecessary.

9-336. SERVICE.

(A) MANNER OF SERVICE.

ANY COMPLAINT, ORDER, NOTICE, OR OTHER INSTRUMENT
ISSUED BY THE DEPARTMENT UNDER THIS SUBTITLE MAY BE SERVED
ON THE PERSON TO WHOM IT IS DIRECTED:

(1) PERSONALLY;

(2) BY PUBLICATION; OR

(3) BY REGISTERED MAIL TO THE PERSON'S LAST
KNOWN ADDRESS AS SHOWN ON THE DEPARTMENT'S RECORDS.

(B) CERTIFICATE OF SERVICE.

IF SERVICE IS MADE BY REGISTERED MAIL, THE PERSON WHO
MAILS THE DOCUMENT SHALL FILE WITH THE DEPARTMENT VERIFIED
PROOF OF MAILING.

(C) TIME OF SERVICE.

ANY NOTICE THAT REQUIRES FILING OF A REPORT, ATTENDANCE
AT A HEARING, OR BOTH SHALL BE SERVED AT LEAST 10 DAYS
BEFORE THE EARLIER OF:

(1) THE TIME SET FOR THE HEARING, IF ANY; OR

(2) THE TIME SET FOR THE FILING OF THE REPORT,

IF ANY.
