9-307. OFFICERS.

FROM AMONG THE BOARD MEMBERS, THE GOVERNOR SHALL
APPOINT A CHAIRMAN AND A VICE CHAIRMAN.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 718(f) -- except as that subsection applied
to the Governor appointing a secretary of the
Board.

"From among the Board members" is new language
added for clarity and to conform to legislative
intent and actual practice.

9-308. BOARD SECRETARY.

(A)  APPOINTMENT.

THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT A BOARD SECRETARY.

(B)  QUALIFICATIONS.

THE BOARD SECRETARY MAY, BUT NEED NOT, BE A MEMBER OF
THE BOARD.

(C)  COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES.
THE BOARD SECRETARY:

(1) MAY NOT RECEIVE COMPENSATION; BUT

(2) IS ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES
UNDER THE STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS, AS PROVIDED IN
THE STATE BUDGET.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 718(f) -- as that subsection applied to the
Governor appointing the Board secretary -- and
the first sentence of (g).

In subsection (c)(2) of this section, "as
provided in the State budget" is new language,
added for clarity.

As to subsection (c) of this section, Standard
State Travel Regulations are adopted by the
Department of. Personnel with the approval of the
Board of Public Works.
