LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 21

(2) EACH REVOCATION OR AMENDMENT OF ANY DECREE
OF ADOPTION OR ADJUDICATION OF PATERNITY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 19(b).

Subsection (b)(1), (2), and (3) of this section
is substituted for the reference in the second
sentence of former Article 43, § 19(b)(iii) to
"legitimation, adoption or other court action
specified in paragraphs (i) and (ii) above",
since the action under former Article 43, §
19(b)(ii) did not require court action. This
conforms to the revision of subsection (a)(2) of
this section, which is derived from the reference
to "legitimation, adoption or other court action
specified in paragraphs (i) and (ii)" in the
first sentence of former Article 43, §
19(b)(iii).

Also in subsection (b) of this section, the
former phrase " {i}n its discretion" is deleted
as unnecessary in light of the word "may".

In the introductory clause of subsection (d) of
this section, the former phrase "in the form
prescribed" is deleted as unnecessary in light of
§ 4-203 of this subtitle.

In subsection (d)(3) of this section, the more
accurate term "adoptive parents" is substituted
for "foster parents".

The introductory clause of subsection (e)(2)(ii)
of this section, " f iff it does not violate the
confidentiality of the record," is added to
clarify that the designee may not break the seal
arbitrarily.

The only other changes are in style.

Defined terms: "Birth" § 4-201
"Department" § 1-101 "Secretary" § 1-101
"File" § 4-201

4-212. CERTIFICATES OF DEATH; NOTICE TO MEDICAL EXAMINER.

(A)  SCOPE OF SECTION.

THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO A FETAL DEATH.

(B)  COMPLETION OF CERTIFICATE.

(1) A CERTIFICATE OF DEATH SHALL BE FILLED OUT
AND SIGNED BY:
