THE DEPARTMENT ALSO INCLUDES EVERY OTHER UNIT THAT IS
IN THE DEPARTMENT UNDER ANY OTHER LAW.

(C)  LIMITATION ON SECRETARY'S AUTHORITY OVER UNITS.

THE SECRETARY HAS THE AUTHORITY AND POWERS SPECIFICALLY
GRANTED TO THE SECRETARY BY LAW OVER THE UNITS IN THE
DEPARTMENT. ALL AUTHORITY AND POWERS NOT SO GRANTED TO THE
SECRETARY ARE RESERVED TO THOSE UNITS FREE OF THE CONTROL OF
THE SECRETARY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as
Article 41, § 206(e).

Subsection (a) of this section is revised to
include all units currently in the Department by
statute. Thus, subsection (a)(1), (3), (5), (7),
(9), (34), (35), (36), and (38) of this section
is new.

In subsection (a)(6) and (10) of this section,
the titles "Juvenile Services Administration" and
"Postmortem Examiners Commission" are substituted
for "State Department of Juvenile Services" and
"Department of Postmortem Examiners". These
changes conform to the current nomenclature used
by the Department, as approved by the Governor,
by letter dated October 29, 1975, under Article
41, § 15CB of the Code.

Similarly, in subsection (a)(8) of this section,
the title "Mental Hygiene Administration" is
substituted for "State Department of Mental
Hygiene" in accordance with Ch. 746, § 10, Acts
of 1976.
