2-105. ESTABLISHMENT OF GENERAL POLICY.

(A)  POLICIES.

THE SECRETARY SHALL ESTABLISH GENERAL POLICY FOR, AND
ADOPT STANDARDS TO PROMOTE AND GUIDE THE DEVELOPMENT OF, THE
ENVIRONMENTAL, PHYSICAL, AND MENTAL HYGIENE SERVICES OF THIS
STATE AND ITS SUBDIVISIONS.

(B)  DUTIES.

THE SECRETARY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HEALTH INTERESTS
OF THE PEOPLE OF THIS STATE AND SHALL SUPERVISE GENERALLY
THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE HEALTH LAWS OF THIS STATE AND ITS
SUBDIVISIONS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as
Article 43, § lFa., c., and the first sentence of
d. and the first clause of § 1B.

In subsection (a) of this section, the obsolete
references to the Commissioners of Health and of
Mental Hygiene are deleted. See the General
Revisor's Note to this article.
