Frederick County - Budget Procedures

FOR the purpose of repealing obsolete language from the
Frederick County Code concerning the board of
estimates, whose functions are now performed by the
board of county commissioners.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland read(s) as follows:

Article 11 - Frederick County

2-7-1.

(a) [After the board of estimates has carefully
ascertained all of the various estimates and fixed them in
amounts they consider proper, the] THE county commissioners,
on or before the first day of June and in accordance with
law, shall levy upon all of the taxable property of the
county and upon all property subject to taxation therein,
the aggregate amount of the estimates, less any revenue
certain to be paid the county during the ensuing fiscal year
from sources other than the levy and property to be
appropriated toward the estimates and less any surplus
carried over, as otherwise provided in this Code.
