ACQUIRE ABOUT HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATIONS REGULATED
UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 848.

The word "facility" is substituted for "all
hospitals and related institutions ... as defined
in Article 43, § 556", to conform, to the
terminology in Subtitle 2 of this title, which,
provides for the State Health Services Cost
Review Commission.

The only other changes are in style.

19-721. EXPIRATION OF CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY.

(A)  EXPIRATION DATE.

UNLESS PREVIOUSLY SUSPENDED OR REVOKED, EACH ORIGINAL
AND RENEWAL CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY ISSUED UNDER THIS
SUBTITLE TO A HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION EXPIRES AT
MIDNIGHT ON THE NOVEMBER 30 AFTER ITS EFFECTIVE DATE.

(B)  CONTINUING AUTHORITY TO OPERATE.

ON PAYMENT OF AN ANNUAL RENEWAL FEE OF $25 BY THE
HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATE
OF ITS CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY, ITS CERTIFICATE REMAINS IN
EFFECT UNTIL A NEW CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY IS ISSUED OR
SPECIFICALLY REFUSED.

AUTHORITY FOR ANY REASON FOR WHICH THE COMMISSIONER MAY:

(1) REFUSE TO ISSUE AN ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE; OR

(2) SUSPEND OR REVOKE AN EXISTING CERTIFICATE.
