FOR the purpose of eliminating the statutory limit on the
fee which a county may charge the Maryland
Environmental Service for disposal of solid waste.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

3-109.

(d) The governing body of any county may charge the
service a fee [not to exceed 25 cents per ton] for final
disposal of solid waste at any solid waste disposal project
located in that county.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

Garrett County - Alcoholic Beverages

FOR the purpose of providing a penalty for a late payment of
a local surcharge to the Garrett County liquor control
board by certain alcoholic beverages licensees;
providing for the collection and implementation of the
surcharge; and making this Act an emergency measure.
