LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

Present Art. 43, § 639, which provides that nothing in
the Psychologists Certification Act authorizes any person to
practice medicine, is deleted as unnecessary in light of §
14-701 of this article, which prohibits practicing medicine
without a license.

Present Art. 43, § 641, which provides for review and
possible revision of this title by the Board "five years
from July 1, 1957, and no later than five years and sixty
days thereafter", is deleted as obsolete and, in any event,
unnecessary.

Present Art. 43, § 644, which provides for the
severability of the provisions of this title, is deleted as
unnecessary in light of Art. 1, § 23 of the Code.

TITLE 17. SANITARIANS.

SUBTITLE 1. DEFINITIONS; GENERAL PROVISIONS.

17-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

IN THIS TITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
in part from the introductory clause of Art. 43,
§ 725 and rephrased in the standard introductory
language to a definition section.

See also § 1-101 of this article for other
applicable definitions.

(B)  BOARD.

"BOARD" MEANS THE STATE BOARD OF SANITARIAN
REGISTRATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears as
Art. 43, § 725(1).

The word "State" is added to achieve uniformity
among the names of the health occupation boards
that this article governs.

The only other changes are in style.

(C)  CERTIFICATE.

"CERTIFICATE" MEANS, UNLESS THE CONTEXT REQUIRES
OTHERWISE, A CERTIFICATE OF CERTIFICATION AS A REGISTERED
SANITARIAN OR AS A SANITARIAN IN TRAINING, ISSUED BY THE
BOARD.
