THE INTERIM MEMBER SERVES UNTIL A NEW MEMBER IS ELECTED AND
QUALIFIES.

(2)  AT THE FIRST ANNUAL MEETING OF THE FACULTY
AFTER A VACANCY OCCURS, THE FACULTY SHALL ELECT A NEW MEMBER
TO FILL THAT VACANCY.

(3)  A MEMBER ELECTED BY THE FACULTY AFTER A TERM
HAS BEGUN SERVES ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A
SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.

(G) VACANCIES; CONSUMER MEMBER.

IF A VACANCY OCCURS AS TO A CONSUMER MEMBER, THE
GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT A NEW MEMBER TO SERVE ONLY FOR THE
REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND
QUALIFIES.

(H) REMOVAL.

(1)  ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE BOARD, THE
SECRETARY MAY REMOVE ANY MEMBER OF THE BOARD FOR NEGLECT OF
DUTY, MISCONDUCT, MALFEASANCE, OR MISFEASANCE IN OFFICE.

(2)  THE GOVERNOR MAY REMOVE A CONSUMER MEMBER
FOR INCOMPETENCE OR MISCONDUCT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, §
120(1) — except item (v) of that paragraph
(2), (4), (5), and (6).

Subsection (d) of this section is standard
language added to this and, where necessary,
corresponding sections of other titles of this
article to state the duty of an individual
appointed to any office of profit or trust to
take the oath specified in Art. I, § 9 of the
State Constitution.

In subsection (a) of this section, the term
"licensed physician" is substituted for the
phrase "physician practicing medicine in the
State of Maryland" to clarify that a physician
member of the Board must be licensed under this
subtitle.

As to subsection (e) of this section, the present
reference to members being able to succeed
themselves is deleted as unnecessary.

Also in subsection (e) of this section, the
present, specific reference to the month and day
when the terms begin is deleted as unnecessary.

Subsection (e)(2) of this section is standard
language added to provide for staggered terms for
