as unnecessary.

As to item (2) of this section, a chiropractor
can be licensed by the State Board of
Chiropractic Examiners to practice chiropractic
and physical therapy, if the chiropractor passes
an examination on physical therapy that is given
by the Chiropractic Board. See §§ 3-302 and
3-307 of this article and Elliott v. Patterson,
12 Md. App. 341 (1971).

SUBTITLE 2. STATE BOARD OF PHYSICAL THERAPY EXAMINERS.

13-201. BOARD ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A STATE BOARD OF PHYSICAL THERAPY EXAMINERS IN
THE DEPARTMENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first clause
of Art. 43, § 606(a)(1) and from Art. 43, §
606(a)(2).

It is set forth as a separate section for
emphasis.

The present reference in Art. 43, § 606(a)(1) to
the continuation of the Board that existed "prior
to June 1, 1968" is deleted as obsolete.

13-202. MEMBERSHIP.

(A) COMPOSITION.

(1)  THE BOARD CONSISTS OF SIX MEMBERS.

(2)  OF THE SIX BOARD MEMBERS:

(I)  FIVE SHALL BE LICENSED PHYSICAL
THERAPISTS; AND

(II)  ONE SHALL BE A CONSUMER MEMBER.

(3)  THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT THE LICENSED
PHYSICAL THERAPIST MEMBERS, WITH THE ADVICE OF THE
SECRETARY, FROM A LIST OF NAMES OF QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS
SUBMITTED TO THE SECRETARY AND THE GOVERNOR BY THE AMERICAN
PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSOCIATION OF MARYLAND. THE NUMBER OF
NAMES ON THE LIST SHALL BE AT LEAST THREE TIMES THE NUMBER
OF VACANCIES.

(4)  THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT THE CONSUMER
MEMBER WITH THE ADVICE OF THE SECRETARY AND THE ADVICE AND
CONSENT OF THE SENATE.

(B) QUALIFICATIONS OF LICENSED PHYSICAL THERAPIST
MEMBERS.
