IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND
REQUIREMENTS ESTABLISHED BY THE BOARD, THE BOARD MAY
ESTABLISH CONTINUING COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS AS A CONDITION
TO THE RENEWAL OF LICENSES UNDER THIS SECTION.
(E) ISSUANCE OF RENEWAL.
THE BOARD SHALL RENEW THE LICENSE OF EACH LICENSEE WHO
MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.
(F) GRACE PERIOD.
THE BOARD SHALL REINSTATE THE LICENSE OF AN
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST OR AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT
WHO HAS NOT PLACED THE LICENSE ON AN INACTIVE STATUS AND WHO
HAS FAILED TO RENEW THE LICENSE FOR ANY REASON IF THE
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST OR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT:
(1) APPLIES FOR REINSTATEMENT WITHIN 30 DAYS
AFTER THE DATE THE LICENSE EXPIRES;
(2) MEETS THE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
SECTION; AND
(3) PAYS TO THE BOARD THE REINSTATEMENT FEE SET
BY THE BOARD.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, § 927
and in part from § 928(b)(1).
Subsection (b) of this section — which provides
for renewal notice — is new language added to
conform to similar provisions governing other
health occupations in present Art. 43. See,
e.g., Art. 43, § 634(c), as to psychologists, and
Art. 43, § 868(d), as to social workers.
Subsection (c)(3)(ii) of this section is new
language added in light of the authority of the
Board under subsection (d) of this section to
establish continuing competency requirements for
continued licensing.
As to subsection (f) of this section, the
reference in present Art. 43, § 928(b)(l)(i) that
an applicant for reinstatement be "{o}therwise
entitled to continued licensure ..." is
deleted as unnecessary in light of its inclusion
in subsection (c)(1) of this section.
Also as to subsection (f) of this section,
"shall" is substituted for "may" in accordance
with the apparent intent of present Art. 43, §
928(b) and to clarify the distinction between
subsection (b)(1) and (2) of that section. Under
