Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 694.

This bill specifies a method to be used by the Division
of Correction for establishing a reimbursement agreement for
State prisoners confined in local facilities that includes a
formula based on actual prisoner days for the previous
fiscal years.

Senate Bill 286, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 19, 1981, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill
694.

AN ACT concerning

State Soil Conservation Committee
Soil Conservation District Supervisors

FOR the purpose of altering the term of office of the
committee appointed members of the district governing

bodies of the providing that all State Soil

Conservation Committee Soil Conservation District

Supervisors shall receive the same per diem rate; and
providing that the Supervisors shall be reimbursed for
travel expenses only upon the presentation of a
voucher.
