Section 3-3(b)
Article 8 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1970 Edition and 1979 Supplement, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:
Article 8 - Cecil County
3-3.
(b) The [Circuit Court for] COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
Cecil County may designate, appoint and employ some
competent and suitable person to act as director of the
family support division and THE DIRECTOR SHALL EMPLOY such
other personnel as may be needed who shall receive such
salary as the [administrative judge and] county
commissioners may order and approve, to be paid by the
county commissioners of Cecil County. The salary of the
director shall compare favorably with the salaries of other
county directors of family support divisions in the state.
In addition to his salary, the director shall be allowed his
office expenses and actual traveling expenses, when in the
discharge of his duties, [to be paid by the county
commissioners upon the approval and order of the court] TO
BE APPROVED AND PAID BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. The
county commissioners shall provide the director with an
appropriate office and such stenographic and secretarial
services as necessary. The person appointed as director
shall be given credit for any prior years of service with
the county.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
