AN ACT concerning

Motor Carrier Permits

FOR the purpose of requiring certain motor vehicles used in
certain transportation for hire to obtain a permit from
the Public Service Commission, regardless of whether
the vehicles operate on a fixed schedule; defining a
term; clarifying and correcting language and style;
removing superfluous language; and generally relating
to when certain permits are required.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

183.

The application for registration of every such vehicle
shall state, in addition to such other information as may be
required by law: (a) the route on which such vehicle is to
be used; (b) whether reserve or substitute motor vehicles
are maintained by the applicant to be used only in
emergencies, and if so, the number of such reserve and
substitute motor vehicles and a complete description of each
(such motor vehicles when in use to be designated by a
special marker to be furnished by the Motor Vehicle
Administration); (c) the length of the route in miles on
