AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Medical Advisory Board

FOR the purpose of clarifying the authority of the Motor
Vehicle Administrator pertaining to Medical Advisory
Board referrals.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Transportation
Section 16-118(c)(l)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1977 Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Transportation

16-118.

(c) (1) The Administrator may refer to the Medical
Advisory Board, for an advisory opinion, the case of any
[individual who applies for a license or whose license has
been suspended or revoked,] LICENSEE OR APPLICANT FOR A
LICENSE, if the Administrator has good cause to believe that
the driving of a vehicle by him would be [inimical] CONTRARY
to public safety and welfare because of an existing or
suspected mental or physical disability.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
