LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

(1)  TEACH MORTUARY SCIENCE; AND

(2)  GATHER AND GIVE OUT INFORMATION ON:

(I)  SANITATION;

(II)  PRESERVATION OF DEAD HUMAN BODIES;
AND

(III)  DISINFECTION OF DEAD HUMAN BODIES,
LIVING AREAS, CLOTHING, AND BEDDING WHEN DEATH RESULTS FROM
INFECTIOUS DISEASE.

(B)  RULES AND REGULATIONS.

THE BOARD MAY ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR:

(1)  THE CONDUCT OF THE SCHOOL;

(2)  PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES;

(3)  ADMISSION OF STUDENTS; AND

(4)  ISSUANCE OF DIPLOMAS.

(C)  COSTS.

THE COST OF OPERATING THE SCHOOL SHALL BE DERIVED FROM:

(1)  TUITION FEES;

(2)  LICENSE EXAMINATION FEES;

(3)  LICENSE FEES; AND

(4)  RENEWAL FEES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, §§ 364
and 365.

As to subsection (c) of this section, present
Art. 43, § 365, which states that the cost of
maintaining the school shall be defrayed from the
receipts for tuition fees, examination fees,
renewal fees, and license fees, is retained here
with only stylistic changes. This provision
appears to be inconsistent with the provision of
present Art. 43, § 360, now § 6-206(b) of this
title, which provides that the Board pay all
funds that it collects into the General Fund of
this State. Also, the system specified in this
section does not appear to be an effective way to
provide the operating costs for a program of this
kind. However, because of the vagueness of this
provision, the Commission to Revise the Annotated
Code was unsure that it could be deleted without
making an unintended substantive change.
