Chapter 773 of the Acts of 1980

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 1

of this Act shall take effect [July 1, 1981] JANUARY 1, 1982
and Section 2 of this Act shall take effect on June 1, 1980.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That,
notwithstanding Sections 2 and 3 of Chapter 773 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1980, the provisions of Chapter
773, as amended by this Act, shall take effect January 1,
1982.

(House Bill 1063)

AN ACT concerning

Smoke Detectors - Installation and Maintenance

FOR the purpose of requiring occupants of residential units
to equip and maintain the units with smoke detectors by
a certain date; establishing certain investigation
procedures and a certain penalty for violation of a
certain provision of this Act relating generally to the
installation and maintenance of smoke detectors;
requiring specialized smoke detectors for the deaf and
hearing impaired; and removing obsolete language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 38A - Fires and Investigations

Section 12A

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1978 Replacement Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
