SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

565H.

(A) AT LEAST 90 45 DAYS BEFORE ANY FEE OR CHARGE FOR
SERVICES PROVIDED BY A RELATED INSTITUTION, AS DEFINED IN §
556(E) OF THIS ARTICLE, IS TO BE INCREASED, THE INSTITUTION
SHALL GIVE EACH PATIENT RESIDING IN THE INSTITUTION OR HIS
OR HER AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE WRITTEN NOTICE OF THE
AMOUNT OF THE INCREASE.

(B) FAILURE TO GIVE THE REQUIRED NOTICE IN THIS
SECTION SHALL RESULT IN A CONTINUANCE OF THE EXISTING FEE OR
CHARGE FOR A PERIOD OF NOT LESS THAN 180 DAYS AFTER THE

PATIENT RESIDING IN THE RELATED INSTITUTION OR HIS

AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE RECEIVES A BILL CONTAINING THE
INCREASED FEE OR CHARGE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

(House Bill 736)

AN ACT concerning

Creation of a State Debt - Shore Erosion Control

FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt
in the amount of 1,000,000 $500,000 $1,000,000, the
proceeds to be used to provide State funds for design
and construction of shore erosion control projects; and
providing generally for the issue and sale of bonds
evidencing the loan.
