physician in the county to act as deputy medical examiner in
his place and stead. In addition to the foregoing services,
whenever any such deputy medical examiner shall be called as
a witness in any proceedings before the grand jury or in any
criminal case, he shall receive as compensation for his
services as such a fee which shall be determined by the
court before which such proceedings are conducted.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

AN ACT concerning

State Treasurer - Investments

FOR the purpose of removing the references to the "Treasurer
of the State" and the "State Roads Commission" under
the existing provisions that govern the investment of
unexpended or surplus money by various officials and
setting forth in a separate section provisions relating
to the investment of unexpended or surplus money by the
State Treasurer; stipulating that, unless otherwise
specifically provided, the interest and income received
from investments by the Treasurer shall be credited to
the General Fund of this State; providing such an
exception for the disposition of any investment of
money of the Department of Transportation; and
generally relating to the investment of unexpended or
surplus money by the State Treasurer.
