(4) An order directing any or all of the
household members to participate in a professionally
supervised counseling program.

(C) FOR AN ORDER TO VACATE THE FAMILY HOME AND TO
GRANT TEMPORARY POSSESSION OF THE FAMILY HOME TO THE
PETITIONER, AN ORDER ISSUED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE SHALL BE FOR
A FIXED PERIOD OF TIME NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR. THE COURT MAY
EXTEND THE ORDER FOR ADDITIONAL TIME AS NECESSARY TO PROTECT
THE PETITIONER OR ANOTHER HOUSEHOLD MEMBER FROM ABUSE,
PROVIDED THE PERIOD OF THE ORDER, INCLUDING ALL EXTENSIONS,
DOES NOT EXCEED 1 YEAR.

(C) (1) THIS SUBSECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO AN ORDER TO
VACATE THE FAMILY HOME AND TO GRANT TEMPORARY POSSESSION OF
THE FAMILY HOME TO THE PETITIONER.

(2) AN ORDER ISSUED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE SHALL BE

FOR A FIXED PERIOD. THE COURT MAY EXTEND THE ORDER FOR

ANOTHER FIXED PERIOD, AS NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE PETITIONER

OR ANOTHER HOUSEHOLD MEMBER FROM ABUSE. THE TOTAL PERIOD OF
THE ORDER AND ALL EXTENSIONS MAY NOT EXCEED 1 YEAR.

[(c] (D) (C) An order issued under this subtitle shall
state that a violation of the order [could result in a
finding of contempt, CRIMINAL PROSECUTION, and
incarceration] IS A MISDEMEANOR.

4-504.

A copy of any order shall be served upon all parties to
the proceedings, and the appropriate law enforcement agency.
IF AN ORDER IS ISSUED BEYOND THE NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS OF
THE COURT, THE ISSUING JUDGE MAY ORDER THE APPROPRIATE LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICER TO SERVE A COPY OF THE ORDER UPON ALL
PARTIES TO THE PROCEEDINGS. THE JUDGE WHO ISSUES THE ORDER
MAY DIRECT IMMEDIATE SERVICE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
4-505 of Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)

4-506 of Article - Courts and Judical Proceedings, of the

Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s)
4-508 4-507.

SECTION 4 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed,
amended, or enacted to read as follows:
