(D) IF THE PERSON IS RETURNED TO THE DETENTION CENTER,
THE PERSON SHALL BE PRESENTED TO THE COURT ALONG WITH THE
EXAMINING PHYSICIAN'S NOTE PRIOR TO THE CONCLUSION OF THE
NEXT DAY IN WHICH THE COURT IS IN SESSION.
(E) AN ORDER OF COURT UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL SERVE
AS A DETAINER AGAINST ANY PERSON SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS SECTION UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE CHARGES AGAINST THE
PERSON ARE DISMISSED, NOLLE PROSSED, STETTED, OR UNTIL THE
PERSON IS PRESENTED TO THE COURT.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any
provision of this Act or the application thereof to any
person or circumstance is held invalid for any reason, the
invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or any
other application of this Act which can be given effect
without the invalid provisions or application, and to this
end all the provisions of this Act are declared to be
severable.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

AN ACT concerning
Nursing Homes - Burial of Residents
FOR the purpose of requiring the Director on Aging, in
cooperation with the Anatomy Board, to set guidelines
for nursing home administrators for funeral and burial
arrangements for unclaimed deceased nursing home
residents; and requiring nursing home administrators to
take certain action upon the death of an unclaimed
deceased nursing home resident.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 70B - Office on Aging

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
