(2) THE RESERVES SHALL BE MAINTAINED WITH AN
INSURER AUTHORIZED TO DO BUSINESS IN MARYLAND ON AN ADMITTED
OR SURPLUS LINES BASIS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981 January 1, 1982.

AN ACT concerning

Wage and Hour Law - Overtime Rate

FOR the purpose of providing that employees, with a certain
exception, any employee engaged in agriculture as
defined by a certain federal act are who is exempted by
the overtime provisions of the Federal Fair Labor
Standards Act is not subject to certain hourly wage
rates.

Article 100 - Work, Labor and Employment

Section 83(3)(j)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 100 - Work, Labor and Employment

83.

(3) All employees as may be subject to the provisions
of this subtitle shall receive a wage of one and one-half (1
1/2) times their usual hourly wage rate for any hours worked
in excess of forty (40) hours during any work week except
that this subsection shall not apply to any of the following
employees:

(J) ANY EMPLOYEE ENGAGED IN AGRICULTURE AS
DEFINED BY WHO IS EXEMPTED BY THE OVERTIME PROVISIONS OF THE
FEDERAL FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT, EXCEPT ONE SO ENGAGED FOR
MORE THAN 60 HOURS PER WEEK.
