(2) THE ADMINISTRATOR SHALL SERVE AT THE
PLEASURE OF THE COMMISSIONERS, SUBJECT TO THE CONCURRENCE OF
THE SECRETARY OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, AND
SHALL BE AN UNCLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND.
(3) SUBJECT TO THE RULES AND POLICIES SET FORTH
BY THE COMMISSIONERS AND THE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION OF
THE SECRETARY OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 41, SECTIONS 257A, 257B, AND 257E OF
THE MARYLAND ANNOTATED CODE, THE ADMINISTRATOR SHALL:
(I) BE THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER OF
THE COMMISSION;
(II) DIRECT, ADMINISTER, AND SUPERVISE THE
ACTIVITIES OF THE COMMISSION; AND
(III) SUPERVISE THE APPOINTMENT AND
REMOVAL OF PERSONNEL EMPLOYED BY THE COMMISSION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

AN ACT concerning
Commission on Afro-American History and Culture
FOR the purpose of modifying the method of appointment and
reappointment of Commissioners; establishing the
duration of Commissioner's terms; modifying the method
of selection of the Commission chairman and vice
chairman; modifying the manner by which employees are
appointed; modifying the method for the appointment of
a director; and clarifying the role of the Secretary of
Economic and Community Development and the Commission
in the appointment of the Director and the
administration of the Commission.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative
Departments
