Harford County - Alcoholic Beverages
(Sales Located Near Schools - Wine Tasting License)

FOR the purpose of altering the distance between schools and
certain alcoholic beverages establishments in certain
municipalities in Harford County; providing for the
issuance of wine tasting licenses in Harford County;
requiring a certain notice; allowing for the adoption
of certain rules or regulations by the Harford County
Liquor Control Board; and relating generally to the
holders of wine tasting licenses.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
Section 34 and 52A(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1976 Replacement Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

34.

(A)  Nothing contained in this article as to Harford
County shall apply to or affect Class F licenses issued
under this article, with respect to sales of beer, wine and
liquor or other alcoholic beverages on passenger trains,
while said trains are in transit through this county.

(B) (1) IN HARFORD COUNTY, THE BOARD OF LICENSE
COMMISSIONERS MAY APPROVE THE ISSUANCE OF A (WT) LICENSE.
THE LICENSE IS ISSUED ONLY TO HOLDERS OF A (BWL) OR A (BW)
LICENSE.

(2)  THE LICENSE PERMITS THE CONSUMPTION FOR
TASTING OR SAMPLING PURPOSES ONLY, ON PREMISES, OF LIGHT
WINE, FOR NO MORE THAN ONE PERIOD OF 2 CONSECUTIVE DAYS IN
ANY MONTH. THE LICENSEE SHALL NOTIFY THE LIQUOR CONTROL
BOARD AT LEAST 7 DAYS PRIOR TO EXERCISING THE PROVISIONS OF
HIS LICENSE, OF HIS INTENT TO DO SO.

(3)  THE LICENSEE MAY NOT SERVE MORE THAN 1 OUNCE
FROM EACH GIVEN BRAND TO ANY ONE PERSON.

(4)  THE COST OF THE (WT) LICENSE FOR HOLDERS OF
A (BWL) LICENSE IS $250 EACH YEAR IN ADDITION TO THE COST OF
THE (BWL) LICENSE.

(5)  THE COST OF THE (WT) LICENSE FOR HOLDERS OF
A (BW) LICENSE IS $100 EACH YEAR IN ADDITION TO THE COST OF
THE (BW) LICENSE.
