SUBTITLE 5. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS.
5-501. USE OF TITLES.

(A)  LICENSED ELECTROLOGIST.

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, A
LICENSEE MAY USE ONLY THE TITLE "LICENSED ELECTROLOGIST" AND
THE ABBREVIATION "L.E.".

(B)  LICENSED ELECTROLOGY INSTRUCTOR.

A LICENSED ELECTROLOGY INSTRUCTOR ALSO MAY USE THE
TITLE "LICENSED ELECTROLOGY INSTRUCTOR" AND THE ABBREVIATION
"L.E.I.".

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first two
sentences of Art. 43, § 555B-33.

In subsection (b) of this section, "licensed
electrology instructor" and "L.E.I." are
substituted for "licensed instructor
electrologist" and "L.I.E.", respectively, in
light of the definition of "licensed electrology
instructor" in § 5-101 of this title.

For the disciplinary provision against the use of
other titles by licensees, see § 5-311(a)(12) of
this title.

For the limitation on the use of certain titles
by licensees, see § 5-603 of this title.

5-502. ADVERTISING.

(A)  ADVERTISING BY LICENSEE.

A LICENSEE MAY NOT ADVERTISE IN A MANNER THAT IS
UNREASONABLE, MISLEADING, OR FRAUDULENT.

(B)  ADVERTISING BY INSTITUTION.

AN INSTITUTION THAT OFFERS AN APPROVED ELECTROLOGY
EDUCATION PROGRAM MAY NOT ADVERTISE IN A MANNER THAT IS
UNREASONABLE, MISLEADING, OR FRAUDULENT.
