8-8A-03.

(F) THE DEPARTMENT SHALL PROMULGATE RULES AND
REGULATIONS NECESSARY TO ASSURE SAFE AND EFFICIENT
UNDERTAKING OF ANY OPERATION TO BORE, CORE, DIG, OR
CONSTRUCT A WELL. THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS MAY ALLOW FOR
REINJECTION IF THERE IS ADEQUATE DETERMINATION THAT SUCH
REINJECTION WOULD MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF THE SUPPLY.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
8-8A-06, 8-8A-07, 8-8A-08, and 8-8A-09, respectively, of

Article - Natural Resources, of the Annotated Code of

Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 8-8A-07, 8-8A-08,
8-8A-09, and 8-8A-10, respectively.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed, amended, or
enacted to read as follows:

8-8A-06.

NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISIONS OF LAW TO THE
CONTRARY, GEOTHERMAL RESOURCES ARE DECLARED TO BE THE
PROPERTY OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND.

SECTION 5 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect July 1, 1981.

AN ACT concerning

Board of Public Works - Geothermal Resources - State Lands

FOR the purpose of providing that geothermal resources
located on real property of owned by the State may be
sold, leased, transferred, exchanged, granted, or
otherwise disposed of for consideration determined to
be adequate in the opinion of the Board of Public
Works, subject to such conditions as the Board of
Public Works and the Department of Natural Resources
may impose.
