Unemployment Insurance - Pensions and Retirement Pay

FOR the purpose of amending a provision of the Unemployment
Insurance Law pertaining to the disqualification from
benefits of claimants who receive certain pensions and
retirement pay; repealing a provision pertaining to
certain individuals receiving certain retirement,
retainer, or disability payments; and providing that
certain types of pensions and retirement pay shall be
deductible from a claimant's weekly benefit amount
under certain circumstances.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(as enacted by Chapter 28 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1980) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article 95A - Unemployment Insurance Law

[5A.

No member of the armed forces of the United States who
has been released from active duty and who is receiving
either retirement, retainer, or disability benefits from the
government of the United States as a result of such active
duty, and who is otherwise qualified to receive benefits
under this article shall have such benefits reduced as a
result of said retirement, retainer, or disability payments
from the government of the United States; and the provisions
of this article shall extend to a surviving spouse of such
member provided such spouse remains unmarried.]

An individual shall be disqualified for benefits:

(g) (1) For any week with respect to which he is
receiving or has received an amount, CALCULATED PURSUANT TO
